Night of June 26, 2016

On the night of June 26, to mark the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture (June 26), Christians around the world are committed to support through their prayers those suffering in the hands of torturers.
10 victims of torture to keep in your prayers

They are Algerian, Angolan, Columbian, French, Mauritian… They have been threatened, beaten, tortured, imprisoned, held in detention. Some died. For their beliefs, for their political involvement, for their commitment to the cause of human rights, for being what they are, for no good reason.
To silence them, to get them to talk…

- Support the victims!

Praying in the heart of action

Christians around the world are called to watch either at events held close to their home or on their own in any other place, in a night when prayer first is a cry and a praise, then a support to their actions and finallly a relay to present these actions to the heart of God.

- Find a vigil near your home!

A community of watchers

Asked to remain vigilant in prayer, Christians will carry together the hope for a world free from all forms of torture. So that darkness becomes light, death becomes resurrection and imprisonment freedom for those who are tortured.

- Here find words to pray ...
